செய்யாத குற்றத்திற்கு தண்டனை அனுபவிக்கும் அப்பாவிப் பெண் மசாஹினாவை 3ஆம் திகதி வரை விளக்க மறியலில் வைக்குமாறு நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவு!
அவர் அணிந்திருந்த ஆடையில் இருந்த சின்னம் தர்ம சக்கரமா இல்லையா என்ற தரப்படுத்தலுக்காக வேண்டி அந்த ஆடை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட ஆணையாளர்களுக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அந்த அப்பாவிப் பெண்ணின் கணவரையும், மகளையும் தொலைபேசியில் நேரடியாக தொடர்பு கொண்ட போது, சோகம் தழும்ப அவர்கள் கூறிய விடயங்கள் கண்களை கசிய வைத்தன. “ சட்டத்தரணி சரூக்கும் அவரது மனைவியும் எவ்வித கட்டணமும் இன்றி வழக்கில் ஆஜராகினார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு நன்றிக் கடன் பட்டவர்களாகிறோம். ஆனால், வாதாடிய சிரேஷ்ட சட்டத்தரணிக்கு பத்தாயிரம் ரூபாய் கொடுக்க வேண்டி உள்ளது. 5 ஆயிரம் கடன் பட்டு நேற்றே கொடுத்து விட்டோம். மிகுதி பணம் எங்கே போவோம்?
எத்தனையோ முஸ்லிம் சிரேஷ்ட சட்டத்தரணிகளும், ஜனாதிபதி வழக்கறிஞர்களும் இருக்கும் நாட்டில் இப்படியான ஒரு வழக்கில் இலவசமாக வாதாட ஜனாதிபதி சட்டத்தரணி ஒருவர் முன் வர முடியாதா????

Mazahina, who has been unlawfully detained by Sri Lankan Police has had her release delayed from today to the 3rd of June. The Court today said that relevant authorities must confirm her dress did not contain the Dharmachakra symbol on it for her to be found innocent. When I contacted Mazahina’s husband and daughter over the phone, they were distraught over this ruling. They told me, in tears, that they didn’t expect this judgement and thought they could take their mother out in this Holy Month of Ramadan. They were grateful for the assistance of lawyer Zarook and his wife who took no fees. However, they had to pay $10,000 rupees to be represented by a senior counsel. Due to their financial struggles, they had to borrow $5000 for the payment and are now in further difficulty. Hearing this has really effected me. I know there are so many Muslim senior counsel’s and President’s counsels, and I plead for someone to step forward and help these defenceless family. Stand up for this family and your community who are being torn apart by this failing system.
