Im not a native English writer. Please apologize for my translation mistakes. Most of our friends are following their politicians these days and expressing their support and even participating in their defamation campaigns.
I got a lot of calls from unknown Tamil brothers and media people today regarding the influencing and inspiring photographs we took to show teachers' role, where we all respect our teachers and love them regardless of our race and religion.
They have composed articles, news, and even songs and memes about this Sinhala teacher and tradition. That was their original feeling came naturally to their mind and really inspiring to see those. It all happened just within 24 hours.
We were fighting and even killing each other and were suffering from war for those 30+ years. It was amazing to see their feeling about Sinhalese culture and people. We all were recovering from that bad experience and its really happy to see this influential behavior from Tamil brothers and sisters.
War was not ours. Not even their. It was planned and created by the environment and bad politics with corruption. We expect our brothers and sisters are not angry with us and so do we. Do not get back into that trap and destroy our motherland.
I saw that we were even criticizing and fighting for name boards and it was really pathetic to see extremists from both sides who cannot even tolerate and understand the real needs of the society and people. We are human beings and our likes and dislikes are depend and we have to sacrify, tolerate, understand, each other, survive and grow as one nation. As true SRI LANKANS.
When we were fighting some of our political leaders are acting in front of media and some were celebrating. Meanwhile, they were developing themselves without developing the country and people and we were trapped by some of them to continue fighting. Why we cannot understand this bitter truth even after 70 years?
We need Sri Lankan Sinhalese, Sri Lankan Muslims and Sri Lankan Tamils. Finally, all of us are in the same motherland as Sri Lankans, enjoying our culture and sharing happiness. All of us are having backbone to stand against corruption and political traps dividing people.
As I understand, most of us are living happily by being slaves inside our own motherland and do not like to come out of the box and see the developing world. But, we must change, we must develop, physically and emotionally at least for the sake of our kids.
Thank you my dear Tamil brothers and sisters who inspired us by commenting, sharing and liking our page Zeearc Photography. Thank you, my dear sister, Hirushi Wasundara for the excellent support given to the inspiring concept.
Let's build our Nation!
